Warwickshire County Council will suspend the roadworks taking place at the junction of The Long Shoot (A47) and Greendale Road for approximately two weeks covering Christmas and New Year periods.
By suspending the works during the busy Christmas and New Year periods from Friday 21 December 2018 to Wednesday 2 January 2019, disruption to the public using the highway on The Long Shoot (A47), Greendale Road and the surrounding network will be minimised overall. The site will be made safe during these periods and the existing temporary traffic lights removed.
Councillor Jeff Clarke, WCC’s Portfolio Holder for Transport and Environment, said:
“These works are taking place as part of planning requirements for the Bellway Homes residential development. When completed, the improvements will alleviate queues at the junction and improve safety on Nuneaton’s highways network.
We understand these works can be disruptive for residents, which is why we are working with the contractor to suspend activity during the busy Christmas and New Year.”
