Proposed works
These works form part of the Historic Bridge Maintenance Programme.
The works are expected to include:
- Extensive repair of the heavily eroded stonework including masonry replacement and refacing, repointing, scour repairs, carriageway resurfacing and potentially raising the height of the low parapets.
- Inspection and possible repairs to the tie-bars located within the arch.
Missing and heavily eroded masonry
These works will maintain the highway structure function for both pedestrians and vehicular traffic which in turn will increase the service life of structure and reduce the future maintenance costs.
