The Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG), which is means tested, helps to pay for essential home adaptations. You could have better freedom of movement into and around your home and access to essential facilities within the home.
These adaptations include:
- grab rails
- stairlifts
- ramps
- improved lighting and heating
DFGs are the responsibility of your local District or Borough Council housing authority. To access more information, support and advice please contact the Home Environment Assessment and Response Team (HEART) who provide this service for all residents in Warwickshire. The HEART service may also be able to support you with:
- adaptations and home improvement
- repairs
- safety matters
- benefits
- grants or loans for essential building work
