Warwickshire’s Health and Wellbeing Strategy sets out how organisations across the county will work together to improve health and wellbeing and reduce inequalities.
The strategy is led by the Health and Wellbeing Board. The Board brings together partners from local councils, the NHS and the voluntary and community sector. Together, they share responsibility for improving outcomes and supporting people to live healthy, independent lives.
Health and wellbeing are shaped by many factors, including housing, employment, education and the environment. No single organisation can address these alone. The strategy provides a shared plan for how partners will work together to make a difference over the next five years.
Warwickshire Joint Local Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2026-31
The current strategy sets the direction for improving health and wellbeing in Warwickshire from 2026 to 2031. It focuses on prevention, reducing inequalities and supporting people to live well for longer.
The strategy has been developed with partners and local communities. It reflects local evidence, including the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment, and builds on what people have told us matters most.
A key feature of the strategy is its place-based approach. Priorities have been shaped locally and will be delivered through partnerships in:
- Rugby;
- Warwickshire North; and
- South Warwickshire.
This means action can be tailored to the needs and strengths of different communities.
Our priorities
The strategy focuses on three shared priorities where we can have the greatest impact:
- Improving mental health and wellbeing: supporting good mental health across the life course, with a focus on early help and children and young people
- Tackling the causes of poor health and inequalities: addressing the wider factors that affect health, including poverty and access to opportunities
- Helping people to live healthier lives: supporting people to be more active, eat well and stay well for longer
These priorities will guide how partners plan, deliver and monitor their work over the life of the strategy.
How the strategy will be delivered
The strategy will be delivered through partnership working at county, place and local level.
- The Health and Wellbeing Board provides overall leadership and monitors progress;
- Place partnerships lead delivery locally and develop plans based on local need; and
- Partners across the system contribute through their services, resources and influence.
Progress will be reviewed regularly to make sure we are improving outcomes and reducing inequalities over time.
