The Community Right to Challenge gives community groups, voluntary organisations, charities, parish councils and local authority staff the opportunity to express an interest in running a council service.
If a community submits an expression of interest, and this meets the criteria set by the national government, we will start a procurement exercise. This will give the community an opportunity to bid to run the service under contract with the council.
