We produce a range of research and reports, often on behalf of partners or other county council services. Our latest work includes:
- 10 years since the financial crisis (PDF, 1.0 MB) – Warwickshire Economics has put together this paper which examines the effects on unemployment, productivity, earnings and house prices at local, regional and national levels, before, during and after the financial crisis.
- The risk of automation (PDF, 956 KB) – Warwickshire Economics has undertaken research based on the seminal work of Frey and Osborne (2013), which sheds light on the jobs most at risk of automation in Warwickshire.
- Skills report November 2017 (PDF, 508 KB – One of the most significant challenges facing local businesses is the shortage of skilled workers. This report analyses the responses of businesses to the QES in Q3 2017.
- Warwickshire’s productivity report (2017) (PDF, 768 KB) – This report reviews the Office of National Statistics data, which places Warwickshire amongst the fastest growing local authorities in the UK.

The strength of the manufacture of motor vehicles sector – This presentation highlights the comparative advantage Warwickshire has within the motor vehicle sector. The success of the sector is underpinned by a well-established supply chain, a large proportion of skilled workers and an abundance of STEM graduates from the University of Warwick and Coventry University.

- Warwickshire’s rural profile (PDF, 505 KB) – A joint project with Warwickshire Observatory on behalf of the Regeneration and Infrastructure Group. The report considered the contribution of the rural economy to economic growth in the county.
- Low wage sectors and productivity (PDF, 686 KB) – The report examined the current and future performance of Warwickshire’s economy by focusing on low-wage industries that suffer from poor productivity.
