ACE- Adoption Central England - now provides adoption services for Herefordshire. If people are considering adoption, and live in Herefordshire, they should now contact ACE.
ACE is the Regional Adoption Agency for Herefordshire as well as Coventry, Solihull, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
Across the country the 2019 focus for National Adoption Week is to find families for children who wait the longest for a loving home. More specifically, ACE are looking for more families for groups of brothers and sisters, children from black and minority ethnic backgrounds, older children up to 10 years and for children who have some level of developmental delay or a complex health need.
Councillor Felicity Norman, Herefordshire Council Cabinet Member for Children and Families, said: “Following the government’s strategy to regionalise adoption services, we are confident that we will be able to find the right families for our children and provide access to a wider range of support services through ACE. Our local adoption team have made positive achievements over the past year, with children being adopted earlier, adoption figures higher than the national average, and good practice identified by Ofsted. We are sure that this will continue to improve under the new arrangements within ACE.”
ACE has been able to place the majority of children with ACE approved families which means that the families can be well supported from the point that they adopt and beyond as necessary. There is a range of local support services and training opportunities in place for people who adopt. This leads to successful outcomes for children and families.
