Flood risk
Publication detail

The National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) requires that Local Plans should be supported by a Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA). The SFRA identifies areas that may flood, taking into account all potential sources of flooding. It is used to inform planning policies and assist Local Planning Authorities in directing new development to areas of lower flood risk and ensure that new development helps to manage flood risk. Therefore, the SFRA will be an important evidence base document that underpins Warwickshire County Council’s Minerals and Waste Development Framework.

Warwickshire County Council, Stratford-on-Avon District Council, Rugby Borough Council and North Warwickshire Borough Council commissioned consultants to undertake a Level Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) update in July 2013. This updated the Level 1 SFRA completed in February 2008. The updated report and output maps were completed in October 2013.

Please note that all figures are accurate as of October 2013.
