Introduction

The earliest years of a child’s life have a long term impact on his or her development through childhood and into adulthood. For a child to flourish and fulfil their potential, they need their environment to provide them with specific types of support from conception to the age of five.

To support children and their parents or carers in the early years we have created Smart Start, a 3 year programme (2015-2018) designed to give children in Warwickshire the best start in life. We are working with providers of early years’ education, social care and health services, the third sector and private sector to look at how best to improve outcomes for children aged 0-5 years.

Get involved

There are still opportunities for parents, carers, communities and professionals to get involved in the Smart Start Programme. Please email smartstart@warwickshire.gov.uk for more information
