Forest of Hearts - Boosting Mental Wellbeing in the Forest Garden

We provide support for people with mental health difficulties by creating an accessible, biodiverse, wildlife rich, sustainable, edible forest garden with off grid facilities for groups and the community to enjoy and improve their mental health and wellbeing. In the first phase (before March 2022), we will convert an existing ships cabin into an accessible compost toilet, install accessible pathways and build a gazebo for outdoor exercise. We are employing two young people on Kickstart placements to give them an opportunity to develop new skills and improve their employability opportunities.

New Pastures Care Farm - Café -Wellbeing Hub

The grant funding will build and create a cafe/wellbeing hub situated on our friendly care farm for adults and young people with a learning disability and or mental ill health. The hub will provide a place for people to talk, relax and feel safe whilst enjoying the farm setting and animals as part of their day service.

Parish of Studley - Breathing Space

The grant funding will redevelop the Jaffray Room at the Parish Centre into ‘Breathing Space’, a room designed to facilitate mental wellbeing. 'Breathing Space' will equip a key meeting venue in the community of Studley with Mappleborough Green to be better suited as a space that will facilitate wellbeing, combat loneliness, and enable anchor organisations in the community to support families and individuals with their mental health and resilience.

The Open Door - Refurbishment of The Open Door Café into a community hub

'The Open Door has operated as a volunteer run ‘not for profit’ venture in the heart of Hampton Magna since 1999. It is a much loved resource for the community and provides a meeting place for many groups across all ages. In September 2021, we relaunch with a new look and feel but with a renewed purpose - a space for the community, in the community, providing support for those who need it. It's a welcoming location where groups of varying sizes, with differing needs, can gather – for formal meetings, support groups or to simply meet up with friends.
