Smokefree Warwickshire Alliance

Is a multi-agency partnership whose purpose is to oversee and advise on the strategic direction of Tobacco Control across Warwickshire. The Alliance will support the implementation of local and national initiatives, prioritising the protection of children and young people from the harm caused by smoking tobacco.

Members of the Alliance will be advocates for Tobacco Control across Warwickshire, supporting cross boundary partnership working and promoting the message that ‘Tobacco is everybody’s business’.

The Alliance members represent key organisations including Warwickshire Stop Smoking Service, WCAVA, Warwickshire Trading Standards. Borough and District Council Environmental Health, Clinical Commissioning Groups, HMRC, Education, Children, Young People and Family Services, Warwickshire Fire and Rescue, Warwickshire Communications and Secondary Care.

A local Tobacco Control Action Plan has been developed and agreed by the Health & Wellbeing Executive Board in Sept 2016 and supported by all partners represented. An annual report on performance, progress and any other issues of note will be reported at ASC&H OSC every year.
