Residential secondary courses usually last five days (Monday to Friday) but may be shorter, either mid-week or over a weekend, and sometimes we run courses extending beyond five days.
Whatever programme of activities you follow during your stay, we also encourage you to embrace the central ethos of teamwork, respect, challenge and responsibility, which runs through everything we do. This ethos helps to meet some of the key skills at KS3 and KS4 such as teamwork, communication and problem-solving.
Activities normally suited to secondary age courses include the following:
- gorge walking
- rock climbing and abseiling
- mountain walking
- canoeing and kayaking
- ropes courses
- mine exploration
- problem-solving/team building
- sea level traversing/coasteering
- mountain biking
- environmental field studies
- bushcraft skills
