What to bring to the test centre

  • Arrive no earlier than 5 minutes before your appointed slot.
  • Please bring a mobile phone number with you to the test centre as test results will be sent via text. Without one, you will not be able to take your test. It can belong to a friend or family member if you don’t own one.
  • Please bring hand sanitiser with you and wear a face covering (unless exempt).
  • Results should be available within a couple of hours and will be sent as an SMS text and/or email. If you do not have the means to receive this message, you will need to identify someone to receive the results on your behalf and inform you of the result. You will need to bring their email address or mobile phone number to the test station. At present, the NHS Test and Trace cannot inform you of the result without this.
  • Do not attend if you have COVID-19 symptoms or are self-isolating for another reason. If you have COVID-19 symptoms, please book an NHS swab test online or by ringing 119.

At the test centre

  • Please enter the outer test site and, if you need to queue please do so observing the 2-metre social distancing.
  • Face coverings must be worn at all times unless exempt.
  • The test centre will operate a one-way system to manage the flow of people. Please use hand sanitisers on entry and exit of the test site. There is ongoing cleaning of the site between each usage.
  • One of our meet and greet test team staff will check your booking and direct you to the registration desk.
  • Upon entering the inner site you will receive a test card (with QR code) and three barcodes. Assistance will be offered with the registration process if required.
  • View a clip of what you need to do to perform the test on site (3 mins 30secs).
  • You will be directed to an available booth where you will self-swab. Please note the test is a self administered nose and throat swab test. If you cannot administer the test yourself please bring along someone to help you. Also note that for children, parents/carers will be asked to administer the test.
  • The Sample Supervisor Operative will be able to provide guidance and will take the sample for analysis.

After the test

What we do

  • Our technician waits 20 to 30 minutes, reads the result on the LFD and marks it.
  • The LFD barcode is scanned with the mobile app and the results are entered.

Notification of result will be shared with Public Health England, NHS Test and Trace, and also Warwickshire County Council.

What you do

  • Once the test is complete, you will then be able to leave and your results will be sent to you via text via the NHS test service.
  • You receive results via SMS text from the NHS test service within one or two hours and follow the advice provided.

After you receive the test result

Positive result

  • If your test is positive, you will need to return home (not using public transport) and isolate with your household members.
  • You will need to isolate for 10 days (and until well and fever-free for 48 hours). Your household will also need to isolate for 10 days.
  • Your close contacts will need to isolate for 10 days
  • Routine confirmatory NHS swab tests will be retained for those who self-report, including NHS staff, adult social care staff, primary school teachers and hauliers. Book NHS swab tests online or book by calling 119.

Negative result

  • If you test negative you do not need to isolate 
  • You will need to continue to follow the guidelines of hands, face, space and keep contacts to a minimum
  • Ensure that you get tested weekly at one of our six test centres
  • Please continue to be vigilant and follow national guidelines. if you develop any of the COVID-19 symptoms, ensure you book a test online via the NHS or by ringing 119.

Void result

  • Please book to come for another lateral flow test.

Test results not received

All test results are managed by the national NHS Test and Trace Service. If you do not receive your test results within 12 hours then you will need to rebook a new test.
