Exercise and physical activity are key to rehabilitating patients as they recover from COVID-19 – so referring those suffering from low to moderately long COVID to Fitter Futures Warwickshire can make a big difference for symptoms such as:

  • Fatigue
  • Breathlessness
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Mild cognitive impairment
  • Musculoskeletal pain

New Individually Tailored Exercise

In response to COVID-19, Fitter Futures has launched a pulmonary maintenance pathway for people with respiratory impairments such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Specially trained instructors will support patients with individually tailored exercise prescriptions and group online classes.

Fitter Futures strive to deliver and execute a tailored plan that will consider all barriers and obstacles that may be present. (i.e. allowances for medication side effects). A consultation after referral helps Fitter Futures to establish your mental, physical and social wellbeing, and listen to your journey and experiences, which inevitably helps us together devise a plan to a healthier lifestyle and outlook. Fitter Futures will incorporate physical activity into your life based on your needs, which may be one to one at home or within a gym environment.

Being home for over 18 months the option for 1-2-1 Zoom sessions and Facebook sessions have helped me not only with my weight loss but also mental health. Fitter Futures Warwickshire has given me the confidence to try new classes outside of our sessions which I have thoroughly enjoyed. I am able to do a lot more things since doing the exercise sessions and I know my Physiotherapist at the hospital will be amazed when I am able to return. Thank you so much to the team for helping me!
