The role of a Physical Activity Consultant is to find out what your individual needs are to support you to increase your physical activity levels and improve your health and well-being through small healthy lifestyle changes. A Physical Activity Consultant will help you plan a tailor-made 12-week programme and offer you the following choices:
One-to-one support and/or home visits
This comprehensive service begins with an initial consultation and fitness assessment by a Physical Activity Consultant to find out what physical activity/healthy lifestyle support you would like. Your individual programme will be reviewed every 4- 6 weeks and changes can be made. Following the 12-week programme, a Physical Activity Consultant will help you gain access to a wide variety of activities to keep you active.
A Physical Activity Consultant can also operate from a mobile gym in your own home, a local park or in a community facility. The mobile gym is equipped with a range of equipment. They also have the latest equipment for conducting in-depth health checks.
Activities in your community
There is a range of community activities which can form all or part of your 12-week programme. Some of these will take place in local community venues or in leisure facilities. The Physical Activity Consultant can give you information about what is in your area.
