Positive Parenting Programme (Triple P)
Effective parenting strategies for parents/carers of a teenager. This course is available free of charge through Warwickshire County Council. It runs for eight weeks and consists of four 2-hour sessions held weekly. This is then followed by three 15-30 minute weekly phone calls, then a final group session. The groups are usually small, 10-12 parents and cover a range of topics including:
- effective parenting strategies
- how to promote you teenager's development
- how to manage common teenage behavioural and emotional problems
- principles to help you deal with almost any situation that may arise
Online Positive Parenting Programme (Triple P)
This course is available free through Warwickshire County Council. It consists of 8 modules which can be completed once a week or more or less intensively depending on the time you have available.
The course is suitable for families with pre-teens and teens can help you build a stronger relationship, negative boundaries and expectations, deal calmly with conflict and help them prepare for and handle tricky situations. Ongoing support is offered throughout the course.

Care for the Family – Time Out for Parents
Care for the Family offer a range of parenting courses to support you and to help you build a strong and secure relationship with your child, whatever their age. They are run in community venues around the country and are usually made up of six 2-hour sessions, led by trained facilitators.
Keeping your family safe online
This is a free two hour sessions suitable for parents of older children and teenagers, covering:
- How young people are groomed online
- How we can keep young people safe online
- How we can monitor the websites they are looking at
- How parents can apply security measures on young people's devices to keep them safe

Children and family centres
Children and Family Centres run a variety of parenting advice and support for families up to the age of 19. Family support workers are based in all the children and family centres and can offer advice and support over the telephone or face-to-face. They also run a range of parenting programmes and workshops on specific themes such as:
- the Triple P programmes
- family nurturing
- managing children’s behaviour
