Your local children and family centre are offering a virtual timetable of activities and family support workers continue to offer telephone advice and support. To find out more about what is available, check out their facebook page or contact your local children and family centre.

Group Positive Parenting Programme (Triple P)

Effective parenting strategies for parents/carers of a teenager. This course is available free of charge through Warwickshire County Council. It runs for eight weeks and consists of four 2-hour sessions held weekly. This is then followed by three 15-30 minute weekly phone calls, then a final group session. The groups are usually small, 10-12 parents and cover a range of topics including:

  • effective parenting strategies
  • how to promote you teenager's development
  • how to manage common teenage behavioural and emotional problems
  • principles to help you deal with almost any situation that may arise

Online Positive Parenting Programme (Triple P)

This course is available free through Warwickshire County Council. It consists of 8 modules which can be completed once a week or more or less intensively depending on the time you have available. 

The course is suitable for families with pre-teens and teens can help you build a stronger relationship, negative boundaries and expectations, deal calmly with conflict and help them prepare for and handle tricky situations. Ongoing support is offered throughout the course.

The teenage years can be an emotional assault course for all concerned. A gulf can grow between parents and their children during adolescence. This webpage gives information about the process of adolescence and how the challenges which arise can be managed.

Care for the Family – Time Out for Parents

Care for the Family offer a range of parenting courses to support you and to help you build a strong and secure relationship with your child, whatever their age. They are run in community venues around the country and are usually made up of six 2-hour sessions, led by trained facilitators.
