Standard: Grade 6+
Rehearsals: Fridays 7.10 - 9.30 pm at Kenilworth School, Leyes Lane, Kenilworth, CV8 2DA.
The Warwickshire County Youth Wind Band offers members the opportunity to perform wind music to a high standard and to provide them with a platform from which to demonstrate and share their talents with the community.
The band has earned an enviable reputation for the quality and variety of its music both at home and abroad. The repertoire of the band is extremely varied ranging from original wind band works to arrangements of the “classics”, selections from films and musicals and a heritage of traditional military music.
The Director of the Youth Wind Band is Stella Mackereth, teacher and woodwind specialist with County Music Service, and she is supported by Andrew Mackereth who has considerable experience of Wind Band music and repertoire as a composer and publisher on the international stage.
Membership and joining information
Admission is by audition. Candidates should be between the ages of 14 and 21 (applications from younger, able children will be considered if appropriate) and of a standard equivalent to Grade 6.
