 | Towns of Warwickshire - Thurlaston |
 | Thurlaston is a village and civil parish in the Rugby district of Warwickshire with a population of 352 (2001 census). The village is 3.5 miles south-west of Rugby.
The name derives from a grandson of King Alfred the Great who had connections with the village. His name was Turchitel (among other recorded variations of this name), hence Turchitel's Ton (ton is a Saxon word for a dwelling) became Thurlaston.
The village is located a few miles south-west of Rugby south of the M45 motorway, and is a cul-de-sac with only one road into the village connecting it with the B4429.
Thurlaston overlooks the Draycote Water reservoir.
