Following a tendering process in early 2009 John Laing Investments Ltd has been appointed by the County Council as the Joint Promoter and Funder for the scheme. John Laing will lead a team that includes Steer Davies Gleave, RWA Rail and Hollingworth Bissell.

The appointment of the Joint Promoter represents a milestone in the project and will now see the County Council and John Laing working together to further develop the business case for Kenilworth station. John Laing will assist the County Council to develop, fund and deliver the scheme and secure the long-term operation of the station.

John Laing has a great deal of experience and has previously worked with the County Council to deliver the similar schemes of Coleshill Parkway and Warwick Parkway rail stations

Andy Pearson, Head of Rail at John Laing, said: “We are pleased to see this project moving forward and to be involved in the delivery of a new station for Kenilworth and the surrounding communities. We have a great team in place and will be working with them to develop the station plans over the coming year.”
