| Teenage Pregnancy Strategy |

In June 1999 the Government lauched a National Teenage Pregnancy Strategy that had two broad aims:
- To reduce the rate of teenage conceptions by 15% by 2004 and by 50% by 2010
- To encourage and support young parents in education, employment and training
The Respect Yourself Partnership (a multi-agency partnership) and the Respect Yourself Campaign Team in Warwickshire have the responsibility to influence all agencies working with children and young people to use their resources to enable young people to make informed choices regarding their sexual health.
As a result of the strong partnership work and the Respect Yourself Campaign we will achieve the following outcomes:
- A reduction in the under-18 conception rate
- A reduction in the rate of sexually transmitted infections amongst young people
- Young people will be able to make informed choices about their sexual health and the impact of early parenthood
- Young parents will receive appropriate support to ensure positive outcomes for themselves and their children
