Black and Minority Ethnic communities, including refugees, gypsies and travellers, have historically faced discrimination in all areas of their life. Discrimination has more often than not been on the grounds of colour, race, religion, national origins, leading to racist attitudes and practices.
We recognise that Warwickshire is a multi-cultural society with different communities and individuals with differing needs. Stereotyping or presumptions should not define these needs.
The Council aims to promote multiculturalism by celebrating diversity of culture in Warwickshire, promoting understanding and raising awareness so that all citizens of Warwickshire can live in an harmonious society while appreciating difference.
Warwickshire County Council is committed to do all in its power to eliminate racism and racial discrimination, either direct or indirect in every area of its responsibilities.
