| Care to Learn
A grant for young parents under 20 who wish to return to education or training. The funding can be used to cover childcare costs and travelling expenses incurred whilst training. Click on the link for more information. |
| Tax Credits
Child Tax Credit - You will be eligible if you are responsible for children aged 0-16 and you have a family income of less than £58 000 (you do not have to be working to claim but the amount you receive is income dependent). An extra baby element is awarded if your child is under 1.
Working Tax Credit - This has a childcare element which will pay up to 80% of childcare costs (amount paid is dependent on income). To be eligible each parent in a child's primary residence must be over 16 and work for at least 16 hours per week.

| Childcare Vouchers - www.daycaretrust.org.uk
Childcare vouchers are a means of paying for childcare – they are one of the ways in which employers can assist employees with childcare costs. From 6 April 2005, the first £50 a week supplied via childcare vouchers is exempt from tax and National Insurance Contributions (NIC) for employees, so they can help you to save money with your childcare fees. Ask your employer if they offer a voucher scheme. |
| Nursery Funding - FREE Early Education
The Nursery Funding is available for all children from the term after their 3rd birthday, continuing to statutory school age. The grant currently provides for up to five, free 2½ hour nursery education sessions per week for 38 weeks per year at a nursery or pre-school that is registered for Nursery Funding.
