Warwickshire Accessible Housing -
Proud to be Working in Partnership
|
The Warwickshire Accessible Housing Partnership (WAH) is a partnership approach involving customers, the 5 Local District and Boroughs, Children and Adults Social Care and the Primary Care Trust (PCT). The Warwickshire Accessible Housing Partnership seeks to improve the well being of disabled and older people, their families and carers in Warwickshire through the effective delivery of adaptations.
- If you, someone you live with or care for, is disabled or has a sensory impairment, a long term illness or is getting frail through age, you may find some everyday activities increasingly difficult. Your accommodation may prevent you from living as independently as you might wish: in comfort, safety and with dignity.
- In Warwickshire, we would like to see people living as independently as possible, and to have the freedom of a safe home environment. This may be in their own home with the provision of adaptations, or in more suitable accommodation, where everything is on one level and there are no stairs.
- Adaptations covers a range of different pieces of equipment from minor modifications such as adding grab rails to the home all the way up to major adaptations such as stairlifts and through floor wheelchair lifts.
This web section looks at the process of adapting your home, from funding to completion of works and gives a brief overview of the different types of adaptation. If you are not eligible for services or funding, we hope there will be plenty of information here about planning your own adaptations.

We aim to provide high quality, independent information and advice to help people maintain their independence and live comfortably at home in later life. We provide guidance on the services available to help you manage better at home, including care services, as well as support to help you move home if you prefer.
Our service is available free to all older people and, where appropriate, people with disabilities in Warwickshire. This includes tenants as well as those who own their own home, regardless of their income or savings. It is also free to their families and carers and to professionals.
