Warwickshire County Council is currently building a new passenger bridge with lifts at Stratford-upon-Avon Station.
The bridge aims to increase accessibility between platforms for those who would currently find using the existing stepped footbridge a challenge or impossible. The bridge is to be part funded by the Department for Transport’s ‘Access for All’ scheme and is planned to open 30th October 2015.
In response to the public feedback received following the scheme exhibition held at the Station in January 2013, the planning application was submitted for a Heritage Style bridge. Copies of the exhibition displays are still available to view hereStratford Access for All brochure (PDF, 16.19 MB)
Shortly after the award of planning permission, the Design & Build Construction Contract was awarded to Dyer & Butler Ltd.
The project is now at an advanced stage of delivery. The contractors are now on site and updates are available below.
