Our research and analysis help us to understand the challenges and opportunities for Warwickshire’s economy and the needs of our local businesses.

We will develop activities and initiatives that add value for Warwickshire and will help grow the economy to the benefit of all our residents.

Who is in the group?

Staff from a range of disciplines take part in the group to help understand, promote and support the local economy. Key functions include:

  • economic analysis and research
  • policy and strategy development
  • external funding
  • project and programme management
  • business development
  • business support
  • inward investment through the work of Invest in Warwickshire
  • engagement in the employment and skills agenda including apprenticeships and Skills for Employment Programme
  • supporting the development and operation of the Coventry and Warwickshire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP)
  • managing our business centres

Our purpose and priorities

  1. To be the centre of knowledge and expertise on Warwickshire’s economy – maintaining data, carrying out research and analysis, looking at business needs and issues, understanding and communicating information and analysis on the economy.
  2. Develop, shape and inform strategies, policies, funding programmes, initiatives and key projects to make sure that they best meet the needs and issues of Warwickshire’s economy.
  3. Manage and, where appropriate, deliver projects and initiatives that support and facilitate the growth of Warwickshire’s economy.
  4. Promote Warwickshire as a great place to start and build a business.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with partners and stakeholders, including the Coventry and Warwickshire LEP.
  6. Maximise the impact and effectiveness of our business centres to support local economic development and maintain and, where possible, increase income levels.
