Our work includes:

Delivery of council ambitions associated with our (legislatory) duties in arranging social care and support services for vulnerable and older people and their families with eligible needs; and
Facilitating ‘protection’ when needed, eg. Safeguarding and mental health related responsibilities.

We focus on ‘outcomes’ as expressed by the people we support, rather than ‘service measures’, such as market capacity in a ‘Personalised’ approach.

We are developing ‘maximising independence’; short-term, low-level support to enable people to sustain or regain independence avoiding need for long-term support.

We comprise of teams of staff and managers, including Social Workers, Community Care Workers, Occupational Therapists and Reablement ‘home-care’ staff and Adult Mental Health Practitioners. Teams cover geographical areas across the county and some are integrated with health professionals.
