No this is not a new Council dating agency! We are talking Car Sharing and it takes 2 to Car Share but why stop there some people share with 3 or 4! Car Sharing is something we can all do to reduce congestion, save money and help reduce our Carbon footprint.
As a Council the spotlight is on us to lead on these issues and who better than some of the top names in the Council. This month Councillors and Heads of Service take up the Car Share gauntlet. They have found a partner to try Car Sharing and have recorded their thoughts and feelings on these pages.
Why not follow in the footsteps of our Councillors and leaders and try Car Sharing for a month.
Try it and you can take advantage of the money saving benefits and relieve some of the stress of commuting. There is plenty of information on this site to get you started with a scheme or perhaps you see someone on your journey to work stuck in the same traffic and know they live close or maybe the person you say ‘hi’ to each morning may live in the same village or town as you.
Or perhaps you own a small business and your staff have trouble parking, you may want to set up an informal Car Sharing Scheme for your staff and get involved in the challenge yourself.
Did you know?
Road transport is responsible for about 25% of all CO2 emissions in the UK, with over half of this from cars.
