There are a number of local and national organisations and companies who specialise in providing short breaks, holidays and holiday support to people who have a disability themselves or the parents and carers of disabled children.   • Take a Break - is a local voluntary organisation which exists to provide short breaks for children and adults who have a disability and life threatening illness.
  • Breaks for Carers - is a new online service for people in Warwickshire who have a learning disability and their families. The aim of the service is to make it easier for people who care to have a break from their caring role if they want to.
  • Ableize - is a website owned and run by people with disabilities. They provide information including details of organisations that offer holidays and holiday support to the parents and carers of disabled children.
  • Disabled Holiday Information - provides disabled travellers with the information to plan and choose suitable and accessible holidays and short breaks depending on their disability and special needs.
  • ILEAP - Inclusive Leisure Education Activities Project - is a charity for young people and adults with a learning disability, which offers them the opportunity to take part in leisure activities with the support and assistance of a trained worker, allowing parents and carers to take a short break from their caring role.
