- National Autistic Society - is the leading UK charity for people with autism (including Asperger syndrome) and their families. We provide information, support and pioneering services, and campaign for a better world for people with autism.
- Royal National Institute of Blind People - is the UK's leading charity for blind people. They offer advice and support to the almost two million people living in the UK with sight loss.
- British Deaf Association - is the largest deaf organisation in the UK. It is run by deaf people for deaf people. They provide information about campaigns and services for deaf people.
- Auditory Verbal UK - is a national charity which teaches deaf babies and children to listen and speak using Auditory Verbal Therapy, so that they can achieve their potential in life.

There is now a wide range of information available to the parents or carers of a disabled child.
Contact a Family - provide a number of leaflets that you may find particularly useful on issues such as support with diagnosis, equipment, benefits, dealing with bullying, arranging holidays and preparing your child for adult life.
