Day services

We understand that you will want to stay as active and independent as possible for as long as possible. Our aim therefore is to promote independent living for our customers by providing a broader mix of services so that they have more choice and control in their lives. If you are assessed as needing a day care service these needs will still be met, but you will be supported in meeting those needs in different ways. This will mean that you may have a personal budgets which you will control directly or you can ask us, or a provider, to manage your budget for you if they find this is easier. This will give you greater flexibility about how, when and where that care is provided.

We will be looking at involving people more in their local community, moving away from large, building-based centres to enable customers and carers to have a broader range of activities and a more fulfilled life. You can find more information about local organisations, groups and agencies that provide day care service by:

  • look on our on-line Warwickshire directory;
  • look on the Care Choices website;
  • contact the Care Quality Commission (CQC) which provides information on all registered care homes in Warwickshire, some of which provide day care;
  • look in the Yellow Pages - particularly under charitable, voluntary and social services and welfare organisations; or
  • ask at your local library or church.
