Day activities and services

We understand that you will want to stay as active and independent as possible for as long as possible. Our aim therefore is to promote independent living for our customers by providing a broader mix of services so that they have more choice and control in their lives. If you are assessed as needing social care support service you may given a personal budget. This will give you greater flexibility about how, when and where your support is provided.

Our aims is to involve people more in their local community, moving away from large, building-based centres to enable customers and carers to have a broader range of activities and a more fulfilled life. You can find more information about local organisations, groups and agencies that provide day activities and services by:

looking in the Yellow Pages – particularly under charitable, voluntary and social services and welfare organisations;
asking at your local library or church; or
if you are a person with a Learning Disability you can visit one of our six Community Hubs.
