Countryside – disabled access

Our Country Parks have surfaced and signed access trails, our visitor centres and cafes have wheelchair access, and mobility scooters are available to hire at Pooley Country ParkRyton Pools Country Park and Kingsbury Water Park.

In the wider countryside there are lots of ‘stile free’ walks and guided trails. Use our publications pages to select the trails suitable for you. Books and leaflets published by Warwickshire County Council are available in alternative formats.

Walking in Warwickshire

Country parks have produced a book of easy-going walks around Warwickshire. The folder holds 12 individually printed leaflets, each of which includes a simple map of the walk with easy to follow directions, and photographs and illustrations of points of interest.

The back of each leaflet holds a map showing where the walk is located with directions to the site, and information about other places to visit nearby.

The walks are suitable for people of all abilities, and are generally accessible to pushchairs and wheelchairs. Information about types of gates, path surfacing, the length of the walk and facilities available is included on each leaflet. The walks are between 0.3 and 4.5 miles long, and are situated in a mixture of woodland, parkland, around lakes and along canals.

The booklets can be bought for £1.50 each at the Visitor Centres at Kingsbury Water Park and Ryton Pools Country Park.
