Arbury Hall and Gardens

Nuneaton, Nuneaton and Bedworth

Arbury Hall is regarded as the 'Gothic Gem' of the Midlands, and has been lovingly shaped through the years by the Newdigate family, most importantly by Sir Roger Newdigate.
-
The House contains a fine collection of Chelsea and oriental porcelain, furniture by Chippendale and Hepplewhite and paintings by such notable artists as Lely, Reynolds, Romney and Devis.

Arbury Hall is set in 300 acres (a1.2 km²) of beautiful parkland. The landscaped gardens have wide expanses of lawn, lakes and winding woodland walks. There are profuse spring flowers and in June colour is provided by rhododendrons, wisteria and azaleas.

The 19th-century author George Eliot (Mary Anne Evans) was the daughter of the land agent on the estate, and she was born on one of the estate farms in 1819.
