Free entrance to the plant centre, which has a superb Herb Bistro, where you can sample a range of dishes and snacks prepared with local herbs. The delicatessen stocks a wide range of herb and natural products for cooking. kitchen garden or gifts.
The shop has a wide range of herb and garden related items, including essential oils, beauty and aromatherapy preparations, books on herbs and gardening; herb, flower and vegetable seeds and plants; candles; Arran Aromatics; Burts Bees natural products; a range of real leather and hemp handbags; garden implements, decorative items;
The national Herb Centre features Herb display gardens, a nature trail, guided tours,Childrens Activity Area, Workshops, Demonstrations, Special Functions, Meeting rooms. Visit the herb nursery one of the herb nurseries of Lighthorne Herbs.
Herbs available include Rosemary, Lavender, Sage, Chervil, Parsely, Thyme, Coriander, Mint, Peppermint, Spearmint, Basil, Oregano, Chives, Anise, Summer Savory, Hyssop, Borage, Dill, Caraway, Camomile, Fennel, Marjoram, and Tarragon.
The centre stocks (depending on season) over 500 different varieties of herbs including 35 varieties of thyme and 25 varieties of lavender - rosemary, basil, coriander, oregano/marjoram - for both culinary and medicinal purposes. Roses, fruit trees and soft fruit bushes.
