Kineton High School Musical

Friday 5th February, 2010

Warwickshire County Council’s Extended Services division is providing a musical dance and drama project during half term for the Kineton cluster of schools.

The project will be taking place at Kineton High School from 15-19 February and will give the participants the opportunity to develop drama skills, learn funky dance routines, choreograph their own sequences and, finally, stage a performance for friends and family.

Running from 9-5pm, prices are £12.50 for a half day, £20.00 for a full day, £80.00 for a full week and a 25% reduction is available for siblings.

Extended Services has worked not only with Kineton High School to secure a venue but also with React Kidz Acadamies to provide tutors for the classes. The week’s project will culminate in a performance at 4pm on Friday 19 February.

Jo Rolls, Kineton schools cluster co-ordinator said: “This is a great example of what Extended Services can do. During school holidays, we can still offer children a stimulating series of activities. This is particularly important in a rural community such as this as there is otherwise the danger that children can become a bit isolated.”

Julia Morris, Headteacher at Kineton High School said: “Kineton High School enjoys an excellent reputation for its sporting activities, beyond the academic curriculum. This dance and drama project will be a welcome addition to our extra-curricular bow, and will give children in the area a great chance to broaden their own skills and interests.”
