Peapod Family comes to Kingsbury
Thursday 22nd April, 2010
The author of The Peapod Family books is coming to Kingsbury Water Park to meet visitors.
The Warwickshire County Council country park will soon be stocking the wonderful story books about The Peapod Family, written by local author, Kate Pointon.
Kate, who lives in Tamworth, based the Peapod Family stories around the life of her late father, who used to make all sorts of things out of bits of wood. In the first book, Grandad Pea makes a trolley out of a discarded peapod which is put to use when the little family go in search of Pippy Pea who has gone missing.
This book proved so popular that a soft peapod toy containing the three Peapod children was added to the range along with four more story books.
Visitors to the North Warwickshire country park can meet the author on Monday, 3 May, between 11am and 4pm. During the day, she will sign book purchases, and hold story telling sessions reading from her most popular books.
