Warwickshire County Councillor Richard Hobbs, Portfolio Holder for Community Safety said: "I would like to congratulate all the children who took part in this year's Firework Safety Poster Competition; the number of entries was fantastic. "Warwickshire Trading Standards Service works hard to help ensure that Bonfire Night is a safe and enjoyable event for everyone and I hope that this year's competition helped children to think about the dangers of fireworks, and how they can keep themselves safe."
Over 970 children took part in this year’s competition. The competition is a fun way of helping children to think about the dangers of fireworks and reduce the number of firework related accidents.
The competition winners (ten in all across the counties five districts and boroughs), will each receive a £10 book token and see their poster enlarged and reprinted in time for it to be used as part of next year’s competition.
