I’m pleased to see the new bridge over the brook in Forge Road now in place, as this installation had been delayed slightly over the summer because of wet weather.

Work is progressing well on a major project to create a cycleway across Kenilworth and towards Coventry.
The Connect2 scheme this week passed a milestone as a new bridge was installed in Forge Road, Kenilworth, providing a new wider access onto the cycle route.
And with the permission of Network Rail, ecologists from Warwickshire County Council have this week started work looking at the area near the railway line along a section of the route.
A third major development has seen the dates announced for informal consultation on a new bridge to span the A429 Coventry Road at Crackley.
Arrangements have been made for the public exhibition of three design options for the new walking and cycling bridge over the A429, and these will take place between Thursday, October 1 and Saturday, October 3.
The exhibition will be held in the lower ground floor room at the rear of Kenilworth Library.
The Chair of the local Connect2 Steering Group, Warwickshire County Councillor John Whitehouse (Kenilworth Abbey) said: “Residents will be able to study the three bridge options via detailed design drawings, and also look at photographic representations of each option from various different viewpoints, to get a good impression of what each one would look like in the context of the vicinity of the site.
"There will also be photographs showing the different colour options under consideration. County staff and Connect2 Kenilworth Steering Group members will be on hand to answer questions.
“The exhibition is one part of an informal consultation process being carried out between now and mid-October, to gather the views and preferences of consultees before the Steering Group selects the chosen design option to be taken forward into the formal planning process.”
Cllr Whitehouse added: “I’m pleased to see the new bridge over the brook in Forge Road now in place, as this installation had been delayed slightly over the summer because of wet weather.
“It’s also good to see the county council’s ecology team surveying one of the new sections of the route, to be built on Network Rail land alongside the railway track by Kenilworth Common.
"This vital task is being carried out prior to work on any wildlife-sensitive section of the route, to ensure that the natural habitat is disturbed as little as possible during the construction of the path.”
