We are delighted that they can enjoy the opportunities for learning and leisure that the new library will provide
Gill Robinson, Library project leader
Hartshill Library is set to open its doors to the public in the new year in its new location within the community buildings of the Holy Trinity Church.
Warwickshire County Council Library and Information Service will be opening the new library at Hartshill on Tuesday 02 January 2007 at 10am. It will then open every Monday 1-5pm, every Tuesday 10am-1pm and 2-5pm, every Thursday 2-6pm, and every Saturday 10am-1pm.
Hartshill has previously been provided for by a trailer library and currently a mobile library. The opening in the new location will offer residents more services than previously available, in particular public access to the Internet.
Users of the library service will be entitled to borrow up to 10 books at a time, hire up to four children’s DVDs, request items, use the computers for free and find out all sorts of information.
To give customers a sneak preview of all that is on offer at their new library, coffee and mince pies will be served on Tuesday 19 December between 2 pm and 4 pm. There will also be an opportunity to join the library – membership is free but customers are asked to bring two forms of ID.
David Hinds, Holy Trinity Church Warden, said, “Holy Trinity PCC is delighted that plans have come to fruition and that everyone can reap the benefits of the new library. There has been a great working relationship between the Church and Library Service and we look forward to greater things in the future.”
Gill Robinson, Library project leader, said, “This is an exciting development for Hartshill. Providing internet facilities for use by all will be a major boon for the community. We are delighted that they can enjoy the opportunities for learning and leisure that the new library will provide.”
Everyone is very welcome to visit the library and make use of its facilities.
