Coventry is the birthplace of the British cycle and motor industry, and the Museum displays the world’s largest collection of British road transport, including 240 cars, commercial vehicles and buses, 100 motorcycles, over 200 cycles and around a million archive and ephemera items.

The Museum collects, by gift, bequest, purchase or loan, material that portrays the outstanding contribution made by British manufacturers in the development of the world's road transport industries. Particular reference is made to the significant role played by the City of Coventry and the Midlands area.
There are two prime collecting areas:
Road Transport Collections
Motor cars, commercial vehicles, cycles, motorcycles, signs, engines, display material, accessories and other related material.
Archive Collections
Books, manuals, magazines, photographs, documents, films, videos, public relations pamphlets etc.
Opening Times
Museum open every day, 10am - 5pm. Last admission 4.30pm
Open all year round (except Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day)
