Warwickshire's Carbon
Compensation/Adaptation Scheme
The Warwickshire Carbon Compensation/Adaptation scheme was launched to celebrate the Partnership's 1st birthday on Tuesday 3rd July 2007.
Practical Action
representatives from Bangladesh and Nepal launched the scheme and provided an overview of Practical Action's
current adaptation projects
happening in their home countries. Dinanath Bhandari from Nepal and Mizanur Rahman from Bangladesh explained how climate change is already impacting on their communities and how Practical Action is working to help them adapt. Dinanath recounted his experience of
adaptation projects
happening in his home country and emphasised the need for support from developed countries.
The aims of this project are to:
1. develop a Warwickshire specific scheme to support Practical Action's climate change adaptation schemes in Nepal and Bangladesh.
2. raise awareness of the impacts of climate change on developing countries.
3. build up a growing community of carbon conscious people.
