Work experience
Volunteering gives you the opportunity to learn new skills, get hands-on experience and make sure that childcare is the right career for you. It is also a good way of showing employers that regardless of whether or not you have the right qualifications you do have the right skills to work with children.
To find volunteering opportunities in your area go to Do-It or you could try contacting your local nurseries directly to find out if they would be interested in taking you on as a volunteer. You can search for nurseries in your area on yell.com.
