The National Trust's Admit One scheme lets carers get in free to National Trust properties as long as the person with a disability is a fully paid member. You can request this on admission or apply for a companion's free entry Admit One card. This card is made out in the name of the disabled person, not the companion, so there is no restriction on who accompanies the person with the disability on each visit. Enjoy the tranquillity of Britain's largest tropical butterfly paradise at the Stratford-Upon-Avon Butterfly Farm. Carers can get free entry to the farm, which also offers displays of British butterflies, and spiders and insects from around the world. For the adventurous, the farm also offers meet the minibeasts sessions during holiday times.
If you live in Rugby you can get the leisure pass for £1. Rugby Borough Council, in support of family carers and working in partnership with Breaks for Carers are offering leisure passes for any carers of people with a learning disability for just £1. As long as the person you care for lives at home, irrespective of their age, just pop along to the Town Hall and complete a short registration form. The RSC is offering all carers and their cared for a concessionary ticket price of £15 for any of their current productions. Bookings can be made through the designated disability booking line 01789 403436.
Enjoy a day out at Twycross Zoo where carers will receive free admission if accompanying their cared for person. A concessionary admission fee of £8 per adult and £7 per child will apply. No evidence of disability is required.
Take a step back in time at Bosworth Battlefield Heritage Centre and Country Park where all carers receive free admission if accompanying their cared for who themselves will benefit from a concessionary admission fee of £3. Entrance is limited to one carer per concession.
Warwick Arts Centre's buy one get one free offer applies to somebody attending any event with a carer. This means that companions will get their ticket free and the cared for person will pay the normal ticket price or any other concessionary rate that applies, such as senior citizen or student.
