Comprehensive Area Assessment, or CAA, was introduced in April 2009 and was a new way of assessing local public services in England. It examined how well councils and other public bodies work together to meet the needs of the people they serve. The CAA was abolished by the Coalition Government in Summer 2010. However, the following provides the most up to date external assessment of the council's overall performance.
