Warwickshire Artsweek
3 - 11 July 2004
Warwickshire Arts Week 2004 was a celebration of the visual arts and crafts in Warwickshire in the form of artists' open studios, gallery events, education projects and exhibitions / workshops in unusual venues.
The event took place from 3 to 11 July 2004 and was organised by a planning group of artist groups, galleries and local authorities.
With over 130 separate venues and hundreds of artists involved, Artsweek provides a good opportunity to view the best visual arts the County has to offer. See below for spotlighted artists:

The recently opened Art Park at Newnham Paddox played host to the Tantalus art group during the week, as well as providing a lovely setting for the county-wide launch of Artsweek. | |

Pingles Leisure Centre in Nuneaton will be hosting local artist Lindsey Kemp, who has a fresh (& chilly!) approach to watercolour painting. |

Artist Alfreda McHale worked in ‘Cologne and Cotton’ in the town centre of Leamington Spa. She created a site specific video installation. | Venues included:

Based in Austrey in North Warwickshire, artist Annette Bridges is inspired by ocean landscapes to create forms using ceramics and kiln formed glass. |

In the hamlet of Knightcote artists Bill Yardley and Liz Richardson showed both finely detailed etchings and photograph montages. |

In the south of the county, the Long Compton Art Group put on an exhibition of paintings, tapestry, and photography by local village people. |
In Southam Jim Steele makes traditional Windsor chairs, giving visitors the opportunity to view this skilled craft. |
