SpeedAware is run by Warwickshire County Council’s Road Safety Unit to help local people address speeding problems.
The scheme consists of temporary fixed and mobile flashing SpeedAware signs, supported by other publicity materials and temporary safety cameras in parnership with Warwickshirre Police at 'Exceptional' camera sites (SpeedAware Enforcement).
All requests for SpeedAware must come through a community representative such as a Parish Council or County Councillor.
Why is it important to make people Aware of the Speed Limit?
- Excessive speed is a major contributory factor in road crashes where people are killed or seriously injured.
- Every single road death causes immense grief and suffering.
- Every road death costs around £1.5million.

Speed Limits
Don’t get caught speeding - have another look at the highway code – did you know street lights mean it’s 30mph unless otherwise signed?
If you are in a built up area and there are no speed limit signs you should assume that the speed limit is 30.
