| Pathfinder Driving School for 15 and 16 year olds | ||
| Pathfinder is a scheme that teaches essential driving skills and knowledge to kick-start the driving careers of 15 and 16 year olds. At Pathfinder students acquire practical driving skills, learn to control and manoeuvre a car accompanied by someone they know. Throughout the programme the student and associate receive guidance and support from a dedicated team of experienced driving instructors in a controlled and realistic environment, as well as an introduction to advanced driving theory, vehicle maintenance and safe vehicle control. By the end of the 5 day course students will have a real knowledge of the risks, dangers and responsibilities that come with driving and taken a first step towards passing their test. The Pathfinder Driving School is run by U17 Drivers Pathfinder Limited, an educational trust formed by the custodians of the Under 17 Car Club. The Club has taught more than 3,000 11-16 year-olds to drive over the last 30 years, including the late Richard Burns (2001 World Rally Champion). There are currently no further Pathfinder Driving Schools scheduled, however you can register your interest by email. The Benefits • Reduced crash risk. Young people trained by Pathfinder instructors go on to be involved in significantly fewer collisions than their peers. • Get on the road quicker and cheaper. Your extra knowledge, skills and confidence mean fewer lessons before taking your test. • Receive expert tuition.
