Schools |
| Emergency planning has become an increasingly important feature of school life in recent years, with schools having to deal with school closures in bad weather, and emergency evacuations because of incidents on site or because of offsite activities and emergencies. Many schools already have plans in place relating to some types of emergency, particularly what to do in the event of a fire, but there is a clear need to ensure that schools know what is expected of them across a wider range of possible emergency situations. | |
| Advice has been available for a number of years for schools in Warwickshire, through the close links between the Emergency Planning Unit and education services, a comprehensive plan is available to all schools providing the latest advice, good practice and legislative requirements. The pack also contains templates and checklists to help schools develop plans, and also advice on psychological welfare and health advice. To download a copy of the plan, please click here. |
Obviously it is hoped that schools never have a difficult situation to deal with but it is of course important to be prepared and the various departments involved will continue to work on improving this pack so schools and parents can be assured that they are getting the most appropriate advice on dealing with a range of situations. |
