Overview
Hub 119 Ltd is committed to reaching out and making a difference to children.
During 2006 Hub 119 Ltd provided identified young people with opportunities that had proven impact through direct engagement and assisted in the development of life skills, diet, health awareness, and ultimately affected anti social behaviour & crime reduction.
The project is based in an area where there are a range of disadvantages:
High crime
Availability of drugs and alcohol to children and young people
Teenage pregnancy
Environmental issues
Little or no involvement from parents/carers.
These are of serious concern and therefore it is our aim to address these issues by continuing to deliver a diverse range of activities and workshops aimed at prevention of disaffection amongst children & young people.
Making and Achieving a Difference
Hub 119 Ltd makes and achieves difference by providing a range of programmes and initiatives which focuses on the opportunity to learn new skills and channel creativity through a variety of mediums such as:
Pre-school play experiences
Music
IT
Arts
Drama
Sports
These activities are delivered via our ‘Positive-Start’ pre-school project and our evening project which operates throughout the year during term time offering centre based sessions as well as outreach work. The provision continues through all school holidays via our holiday programme.
Furthermore, the project has its roots in the community and was adapted to respond to the changing needs of children & young people. The support programmes offered provided or signposted appropriate intervention. Workshops were delivered in partnership with other agencies & professionals that highlighted topics such as drugs & alcohol, peer pressure, sex & relationships, nuisance crime & healthy eating.
We also promote our services as widely as possible through working in collaboration with relevant agencies and professionals such as local schools, colleges & nurseries, Children & Families Services, Youth Offending Team, Community Policing and Health.
