The Design Services Group is the engineering design and construction sector of the Environment and Economy Directorate within the County Council. It employs around 65 permanent staff comprising Chartered Engineers, Incorporated Engineers, Graduates, Technicians, and business support staff.
It undertakes most of the civil engineering work for The County Council which includes:
- Studies on transport related issues;
- Highway improvements, and new highway work;
- Strengthening & replacement of County bridges;
- Advising on structural repairs to buildings and improvements to County Council properties;
- Inspection of dams and stadiums.
We also provide an independent checking service for designs prepared by external consultants, and undertakes private design work for developers within the County.
The Group is structured into four areas of expertise, with the support of a business team.
We have been working in partnership with Arup, a leading Civil Engineering Consultant since 2001, which was renewed in 2006, in delivering services to the customers of Warwickshire.
