WSCB Multi-Agency Child Protection Training


Shaping WSCB Interagency Training
WSCB training sub committee have undertaken two multi agency training needs analysis between 2007 and 2010. These audits collected over 400 responses from representatives and practitioners from 11 different agencies and organisations that provide services to Children and Young People in Warwickshire. The findings of both these reports were scrutisised by the Training Sub Committee and the recommendations formulated an overarching WSCB training strategy 2010 - 2013 (see link below) that embraces identified training need as well as dovetailing with national and local drivers.To ensure our training continues to meet identified need it is planned to undertake a further training needs analysis in 2011 (see below)

Measuring the Impact of WSCB training on Practice!

WSCB training sub committee undertook an audit to evaluate the impact of child protection training on child protection practice. The audit clearly evidences that WSCB multi agency child protection training has a positive impact on delegates confidence to practice competently to safeguard children. The increase in confidence to practice competently as well as an increased knowledge base was still evident three months after attendingthe training.
The audit also gives clear practice examples of how child protection training has positively impacted on practice.
